Which material suits you?
Start with the ÖSD: the model test with audio and the online training are free and show the current format. Note that the ÖSD Zertifikat B2 is not the Goethe-Zertifikat B2. Goethe B2 books do not match the structure of this exam.
For more practice there is a cheap ÖSD practice book and two publisher books made for the ÖSD B2. With books, check the contents and compare the tasks with the current model test. Paying is mostly worth it for feedback on writing and speaking, since Schreiben has its own minimum score.

The ÖSD model test and Test-Training cost nothing. If you need more after that, the ÖSD practice book at just under €15 is the cheapest addition.

Do the model test today with real timing. Lesen, Hören and Schreiben each have a minimum score, so first see where you fall below it. Then practise exactly that part.

Frequently asked questions
Where do I find the official ÖSD B2 model test with audio?
On osd.at, on the ÖSD Zertifikat B2 page: the whole model test as a ZIP with audio and the single parts to download. Free.
Can I study with Goethe-Zertifikat B2 books?
For general B2 German yes, for the exam not really. Unlike at B1, the ÖSD Zertifikat B2 and the Goethe-Zertifikat B2 are different exams with different tasks. Use material made explicitly for the ÖSD B2.
Do older books still match the current format?
Not always. Exam formats are revised from time to time. Compare the tasks in the book with the current model test on osd.at before you buy. A used book is only a bargain if the format matches.
Is the free ÖSD material enough?
To know the format, yes. At B2, though, most people need more practice and above all feedback on writing and speaking. Books, courses with a teacher and online offers cover that.
