The preposition picks the case
Always dative: mit, bei, nach, seit, von, zu, aus. Always accusative: für, ohne, gegen, durch, um.
With in, an, auf, you ask: Wo? (where?) Then it's dative. Wohin? (where to?) Then it's accusative.
